red light
i have a generation 2 drobo, i have 3 green light and one red light. The red light is at top of the drive the first one...

it is not blinking
solid red
and the drive is acting very slow. copying slow and reading slow.

advice? should I replace the red drive with a new one?

thanks in advance, sorry if this is already been asked over and over, thanks!!

Jay

RE: red light
hi jay,
can you also check to see how much free space you have on your drobo, as well as the percentages of used/free?

a single red light usually shows that you are gettling low on free space, but was just wondering what levels you have currently, as above 95% used it can increase the amount of slowness.

also, in dashboard, can you see any other information next to the different drive bay slots?

(btw i have XP home SP2, a Drobo v1 with 2x 1TB/2x 1.5TB WD greens, & a bkp Drobo v2 with the same + a DroboShare: unused)
& a DroboS v2 with 3xWD15EADS &2x1TB in DDR mode on win7, & a drobo5D (all usb)
  • btw i did a sustained (write) operation for about 6 hours, and got 13.2MB / sec ...objection? "sustained" :)
    (16.7MB/s on a v2 & 47-96MB/s drobo-s)
