Is a possible replacement the v2 drobo, or still v1 but quieter? I just recently bought mine (May) and it almost always sounds like a jet engine :(

NIC/eSATA would be nice ..... but the defining feature (which they should've done in the first one) for me is the quieter operating noise. This thing is in my cabinet, and I can still CLEARLY...

I'm using an AEBS (only the AEBS can attach hard drives), computer and aebs/drobo is about 20 ft away, low interference, channels are not interfering with others (everyone is on channel 6, i'm on 11),...

Could the bug fixes be free and the feature updates be charged minimal fees (

Agreed, I'd be willing to void my warranty for quiet fans on the drobo too. Mine when in use, has this very consistent slightly high-pitched "buzz" sound .... :(

Congrats ;) The Air is an amazing companion for the frequent traveler. It's not the most powerful ever, but that's not the point .... super light for the screen-size, and dare I say absolutely beautiful...

Very interested in getting this clarified. Very bad idea if they charge for firmware upgrades after the one year mark. If so, I'd consider buying a different product and shifting my data there instead :(
Reply to What? No love for early adopters? on May 23, 2008
wait a minute ..... So effective after one year from your purchase date... firmware upgrades are no longer valid/upgradeable? Or just not supported? Either way, that blows for a BARE box that we've spent $450-600...

Reply to AirDisk + Drobo = not working? on May 4, 2008
Yup, I have the new 7.3.1 firmware upgrade [and updated OS X to 10.5.2] AirDisk is not "supported" by Apple (in terms of technical support), but the feature IS enabled and many others are using...

I moved the drive in and out for awhile, after the two drives had solid lights. But I think my issue is fixed now (all 3 green lights) ... I just turned off the drobo,...

Is the 2TB limit per partition on the Airport Extreme? Or does that mean that 2TB is the maximum total that the drobo can share via the USB port on the Airport Extreme? Right now...

about $200 each here in the states. With that said, I'm using two of these in my G5, and 3 WD10EACS [WD 1TB green power drives] in the drobo for ultimately quietness and power consumption
